About Jens Hansen
REALTOR® with Compass, serving Danville, Alamo, Walnut Creek, Lafayette and San Ramon. I help people moving east from San Francisco and the Peninsula work out where they actually want to land — and then go find the house.

I've made this move myself
I grew up in Burlingame — Channing Road, then Peninsula Avenue near the Safeway. I spent my adult years in San Francisco. In 2017 my wife Brittany and I moved to Danville without knowing a single person here.
That's the same move a lot of my clients are weighing, and I don't romanticise it. Some things are better. Some things you give up. I'd rather tell you which is which than sell you a postcard.
We're still here, raising our two daughters, coaching soccer, at the farmers market most Saturdays.
What I did before this
I spent years in sales leadership before real estate — VP level, thirteen President's Club years.
Before that I worked in energy, helping clients evaluate competing solar contractors through a normalised RFP process: same scope, same questions, same criteria, so the bids could actually be compared. That's where I learned that most bad decisions aren't caused by bad options. They're caused by comparing things that were never described the same way.
That's more or less what I do now, with houses.
How I work
Two things, in order.
First, decide what to buy. Which town, which tradeoffs, what the house is realistically worth, how to sequence a move when you already own something. Most of the value is here, before anyone tours anything.
Second, go find it. I don't set up a search and wait for the alerts. MLS, Coming Soon, Compass Private Exclusives, broker tour, agent relationships, direct homeowner outreach, expired and withdrawn listings, off-market network.
Most agents send buyers listings. I'd rather help you work out what you should actually be looking for, and then go looking for it.
